RELISH GUITARS, GUITAR X AND CREAM T GUITARS

RELISH GUITARS, GUITAR X AND CREAM T GUITARS

We get a lot of emails, DM’s and comments asking “What happened to Relish Guitars?" and "is their pickup swapping technology compatible with the Guitar X pickup system?” so today let’s look at a little bit of guitar history and where Guitar X sits with the beloved Relish system.

THE HISTORY OF RELISH GUITARS

Founded in 2010 in Lucerne, Switzerland, the team at Relish Guitars spent 3 years developing their debut guitar, the much loved and genuinely innovative Jane. The Jane featured a machined aluminum center block for increased sustain, hot swappable pickups and a modern and eco friendly, sustainable approach to material sourcing amongst other game changing innovations.

The Jane went on to win numberous industry awards and gained a dedicated cult with both reviewers and users falling in love with the sleek design, attention to detail and cutting edge features.

As the line developed, Relish introduced the Mary and The Trinity, further pushing performance, playability and innovation.

While Relish was pushing the envelope, it took the industry a little while to catch up and sadly, the Relish brand ceased operations at the end of 2023 but all was not lost…

CREAM T AND GUITAR X

As we’ve discussed, Relish were revolutionary in their approach to Guitar building, offering some genuinely cutting edge features to their already beautiful guitars, but one in particular really stood out and that was their propietary hot swappable pickups.

No longer was replacing your pickups a time consuming feat, instead, within 10 seconds you could remove and replace your pickups and then get back to playing.

It was a feature that the team here at Cream T fell in love with instantly and wanted to save from being forgotten. As fate would have it, we managed to secure the license for their patents to allow us to develop and release the Guitar X line of pickups, offering legacy Relish fans access to even more choice (now with around 20 pickups with more coming…) while also integrating Guitar X into our own Cream T line of guitars.

THE FUTURE FOR GUITAR X

As we've continued to develop and expand the Cream T range with the additions of the Apollo, Crossfire, Polaris and LT Series, we've also continued to refine the Guitar X offering with pickups such as the Tribute Series being incredibly well received by both Cream T and Relish owners.

We've also worked with Seymour Duncan on building Guitar X compatible Seymour Duncan pickups, giving Guitar X users access to some of the most beloved and best sounding pickups in the industry today.

As we continue to build on Relish's incredible foundations and look to the future, we have some exciting new partnerships with both pickup manufacturers and guitar brands to announce in the months and years to come.
